Thoughts from Robin
January 28, 2025
Dear Supporter,
As we reflect on the past year, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support in 2024. This past year has been particularly challenging for me as I faced the heartbreaking loss of my beloved wife, Dara, who was the founder of Climb Avy Aware. Her dedication and passion for avalanche safety have always inspired me, and it is my great honor to carry forward her legacy.
Despite the emotional trials, 2024 was also a year filled with significant achievements and milestones that would have made Dara proud. Here are some key highlights of our accomplishments:
Completed ATES Analysis for over 100 routes in Lincoln Falls and the I-70 corridor from the Front Range to Glenwood Springs.
Nearly finished ATES Analysis of 30+ routes in the San Juans.
Published ATES ratings for 100+ routes in Cold Stokes, an Ice Climber's Guide Across the Colorado Continental Divide by Rob “Griz” Ginieczki.
As we look ahead, we have many exciting projects in the pipeline for 2025. Your commitment and dedication to Climb Avy Aware mean the world to us, and together, we can continue to advance avalanche awareness and safety in the ice climbing community.
Thank you for your continuous support, trust, and encouragement. Together, we can make the ice climbing community more aware and prepared for avalanche risks, ensuring that Dara’s vision and mission live on.
Warmest regards,
Robin Miles
President, Climb Avy Aware
